Part 1: How to check PC health Quick & Easy steps
These built-in windows tools give you a quick overview of your PC’s health.
Check PC Health with PC Health Check
- Download “PC Health Check” from Micorsoft.
- Open the app.
- Click “Check now”.
- See if your PC meets the Windows 11 requirements.
Check System Information
- Press Windows + i to open Settings.
- Go to System > About.
- View your device specifications.
Check Performance in Task Manager
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc
- Go to the Performance tab.
- Monitor CPU, Memory, Disk, Network, and GPU usage.
Check Storage Health
- Open File Explorer.
- Right-click your drive (usually C:).
- Select Properties.
- Check total size, free space, and file system.
Run Windows Security Scan
- Open Windows Security.
- Go to Virus & threat protection.
- Click Quick scan or Run full scan.

Check Drive Health (S.M.A.R.T.)
- Download CrystalDiskInfo.
- Check the Health status.
- Look for “Good” and a low temperature.
Run CHKDSK (Check Disk)
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
- Type: Chkdsk C: /f /r
- Restart your PC.
Check System Files (SFC & DISM)
- Run these commands in Command Prompt (Admin):
- sfc /scannow
- DISM /Online / Cleanup- Image /RestoreHealth
Check Memory (RAM)
- Press Windows + R.
- Type: mdsched.exe
- Restart and run the test.
Check GPU Health
- Update GPU drivers.
- Monitor temps using tools like HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner.
- Look for artifacts, crashes, or high temps.
View Reliability Monitor
- Search “Reliability Monitor” in Start menu.
- Check the stability graph and problem history.
