Part 1: QUICK & NOVICE STEPS
Simple changes that make a Noticeable difference.
Restart your PC
Click Start > Power > Restart. A fresh start clears memory and stops minor issues.
Close Unnecessary Apps
Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc, end tasks you don’t need. Many apps run in the background.
Turn Off Startup Apps
Settings > Apps > Startup. Disable apps you don’t need at startup.
Free Up Disk Space
Settings > System > Storage > Temporary files. Remove unnecessary files and empty Recycle Bin.
Keep windows Updated
Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates. Updates include important performance improvements.

Adjust Visual Effects
Press Win + R, Then type sysdm.cpl and press Enter. Go to Advanced > Performance > Settings. Choose “Adjust for best performance” or customize the effects.
Optimize Power Settings
Go to: Control Panel > hardware and Sound > Power Options. Select High performance (on desktops/laptops).
Manage Virtual Memory
Press Win + R, type sysdm.cpl > Advanced > Performance (Settings) > Advanced > Change. Ensure “Automatically manage” is checked.
Disable Background Apps
Go to: Settings > Apps > Installed apps. Uninstall apps you don’t use and disable background activity.
Run Disk Cleanup & Optimize Drives
Search “Disk Cleanup” and select your drive. Also search Defragment and Optimize Drives” and click Optimize for each of your drives.
Check for Malware
Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Quick scan. Remove any threats found.
